The P4 exam is pretty straight forward.   Most pilots should have the necessary information after achieving the rating criteria for this rating.   Therefore, the below is all that you should really need to study.

Be Familiar with the following concepts:

  • Airspace and Route Planning for an XC flight.
  • How a slope and degree of slope combined with wind will affect glide in a wind.
  • How a paraglider bank changes during turns and 360s.
  • The sequence of reserve deployment steps.   (Look, Grab and Break Free, Look for clear air, Throw)
  • Memorize your cloud clearances for class E and G airspace for the altitudes listed in Part 103.
  • The correct reactions to a stall event.

16.2. Recommended Operating Limitations for Advanced Paraglider Pilots

A. Should not fly within 30′ of another glider in smooth air, or within 100′ of another glider in moderately turbulent air.
